The Miss Snowball Derby Pageant on Friday, November 22 and the Snowball Derby Preview on Saturday, November 23 set the stage for the upcoming 57th Annual Snowball Derby.
A big weekend awaits in Pensacola, Florida, with both the Miss Snowball Derby Pageant and the Snowball Derby Preview setting the table for the 57th Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway.
The Miss Snowball Derby Pageant takes place on Friday, November 22 at its long-time home, Seville Quarter in downtown Pensacola. Contestants will be judged in formal wear and fun fashion. Doors open at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, with the pageant beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
Along with the title of Miss Snowball Derby, the winner will receive a $1,000 prize and a David Yurman bracelet courtesy of Jewelers Trade Shop in Pensacola. The first runner-up wins $300, with a $200 prize for second runner-up. Miss Congeniality of the pageant will receive a piece of fine jewelry from Bere' Jewelers, also located in Pensacola.
The fun and festivities move to the race track on Saturday, November 23 with the Snowball Derby Preview. For competitors across all divisions competing in the 57th Annual Snowball Derby, this is the last official chance to get on track at the famed half-mile ahead of Derby week on December 4-8.
The Snowball Derby Preview also features a 40-lap event for the Story & Bleich Roofing Crown Stocks. While there will be an "invitational" event during Derby week for the Crown Stocks, this will be the last chance for many of the division's competitors to race at Five Flags in 2024. The top four finishers in the Crown Stock 40 during the Snowball Derby Preview will earn invitations to the Story & Bleich Crown Stock Invitational 25 on Friday, December 6.
More information about both the Miss Snowball Derby Pageant and the Snowball Derby Preview will be shared during Five Flags Speedway's "In The Groove" podcast. Tune in to Five Flags Speedway's Facebook page on Tuesday, November 19 at 6 p.m. CT/7 p.m. ET to learn more.
